Fairness, firmness will restore hope to embattled PDP: Tom Ikimi

Tom Ikimi, the national chairman of PDP’s National Disciplinary Committee, says fairness, firmness, and decisiveness will restore hope and confidence to the party.
Mr Ikimi said this in a statement.
“We are hopeful that our fairness, firmness, and decisiveness will restore the hope and confidence of our great party to meet the expectations of our teeming membership nationwide and the Nigerian public who are desperate for an appropriate national leadership,” he said.
Mr Ikimi urged all PDP members and leadership to give the committee the support and cooperation necessary to complete its assignment.
The chairman of the committee said that all petitions would be dealt with in accordance with the dictates of the PDP constitution, saying the party constitution clearly spelt out the ‘Offences and Sanctions’.
Mr Ikimi said that the NDC was set to start its sitting/hearing, adding that it looked forward to receiving petitions and complaints from aggrieved members through the National Working Committee or as might be appropriately brought to its notice.
The 26-member committee has Eyitayo Jegede as secretary.
Other members include former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Olabode George, Margaret Icheen, Effiong Bob and former acting national chairman Abubakar Kawu Baraje.
