The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-al-Adha to promote selflessness, charity and mutual respect for greater development of the country.

President of the ACCI, Emeka Obegolu, made the call on Friday in his message and heartfelt congratulations to Muslims on the Eid Kabir (Eid-al-Adha).

Mr Obegolu, in a message, issued by ACCI Media and Strategic Officer, Olayemi John-Mensah, encouraged Nigerians to continue working toward more united and peace for a prosperous nation.

He reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to supporting an enabling business environment, championing policies that empower Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and fostering partnerships that promote inclusive economic growth.

He stated, “The ACCI urges all Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid to reflect on the virtues of selflessness, charity, and mutual respect and to continue working toward a more united and prosperous nation. The chamber remains a steadfast advocate for collaboration between the public and private sectors to unlock Nigeria’s full economic potential. We celebrate with the Muslim faithful and commend the resilience of Nigeria’s business community.’’

He explained that the Eid-al-Kabir, also known as festival of sacrifice, was a celebration rooted in faith, sacrifice, compassion and served as a powerful reminder of the values that promote unity, generosity and perseverance.

The ACCI boss, while stating that the occasion also underpins collective commitment to national development and economic prosperity, commended the Muslim community for their unwavering spiritual dedication and contributions to peace and nation-building.

He said the business community, particularly Muslim entrepreneurs and professionals, continued to play their pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria’s economy through innovation, resilience and job creation.

“As we celebrate this sacred season, we acknowledge the challenges faced by businesses across the country, especially considering global economic shifts and domestic fiscal realities. Yet, we also celebrate the remarkable perseverance of Nigerian entrepreneurs who, despite these odds, continue to uphold the spirit of enterprise, service, and community,” he said.

On behalf of the Executive Council and entire membership of the Chamber, he extended warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Muslims, Nigerians and people around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 2025.

“We at ACCI believe that through shared values and sustained cooperation, we can overcome present challenges and build a thriving economic future for all. We wish all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually uplifting Eid celebration. Eid Mubarak,” he said.
