Zamfara governor’s wife distributes Sallah packages to 1,000 women

The wife of Zamfara governor, Huriyya Lawal, as part of ongoing efforts to support the needy towards eliminating poverty in the state, has distributed Sallah packages to 1,000 women across the state.
The aim of the gesture was to enable the less privileged persons to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir festival in a comfortable manner and improve their livelihood.
The items distributed to the 1,000 beneficiaries selected from across the 14 local government areas of the state include; cows, rams, foodstuffs, and cash.
Presenting the items on behalf of Mrs Lawal in Gusau on Saturday, the permanent member, Teachers Services Board, Larai Musa, said the initiative was in line with the priority interest of the Governor Dauda Lawal administration.
She said that Mr Lawal’s administration is committed towards improving the welfare of the less privileged, particularly at the grassroots level.
She urged the people of the state to use the Sallah period to seek divine intervention in addressing the multidimensional security challenges facing the state and the country.
She emphasised that the government of Mr Lawal has consistently made women empowerment a central part of his developmental agenda.
Ms Musa described the governor’s wife as a longstanding philanthropist and humanitarian contributor that continues to champion initiatives that uplift the vulnerable and restore hope to those in need.
She called on the people of the state to remain supportive of Mr Lawal’s administration as it works to bring progress and stability to the state.
Earlier, a political associate of the governor’s wife, Hadiza Maih, appreciated Mrs Lawal over the gesture, describing the assistance as timely.
She urged local government committees, especially those in rural areas, to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of the items.
