The speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, and Mohammed Muluku, Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, have called for sustained prayers for the nation’s unity, peace, progress and successful governance at all levels.

Mr Jatau, in a statement on Sunday by his press secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, urged the Muslim faithful to continue strengthening their relationship with Allah and their neighbours.

“They should use the period for sober reflections through love, understanding, selflessness and sacrifice for the nation’s peace, unity and prosperity,” he said.

He said there was a need for the well-to-do in society to support the less privileged to give them a sense of belonging.

“Let us all continue to pray fervently for God Almighty to see our country through unity, peace and prosperity as well as emerging challenges confronting the nation,” he said.

Mr Jatau urged the people to continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule and other leaders at all levels to succeed in the tasks ahead.

“Our amiable governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule needs our support and prayers to enable him to succeed and all other leaders at all levels,” he added.

Mr Jatau urged Nigerians to be law abiding and remain committed to constituted authorities.

Also, Mr Muluku urged the Muslim faithful and other Nigerians to use the sallah period to pray for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country.

He called for assistance to the poor and less privileged ones in society to improve their standard of living and that of their family members.

This is contained in a message issued by his personal assistant on Sunday in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

Mr Muluku called on the Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan.

“I want to call on all Muslim faithful to carry these virtues beyond Ramadan and contribute positively to the development of the state and Nigeria at large,” he said.

He appreciated Muslim faithful for their endurance, faith, sacrifices, and trust in Allah throughout the holy month.
