Court remands two for murder

The Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan on Thursday remanded two men, Johnson Olasunkanmi (230 and Akeem Jebe (24), in prison custody for murder.
Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, who did not take the defendants’ plea, ordered the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until May 8 for mention.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants committed the crime on February 24, at about 7:30 p.m., at Asunni compound Agbeni, Ibadan.
He said the defendants and others at large macheted a 28-year-old man, Abiodun Apari, on the head leading to his death.
Mr Amusan said the offences contravened sections 324 and 319 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
