A magistrate’s court in Jos, on Tuesday, sentenced a 17-year-old apprentice to three months in prison for intimidation and possession of a weapon.

The magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict, who had pleaded guilty to the charge.

Ms Bokkos, in her judgment, gave the convict an option of a fine of N20,000 or spend three months in prison.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported at the ‘A’ Division Police Station on April 30 by one Francis Waziri, the complainant.

Mr Gokwat said the convict used a knife to intimidate the complainant’s 14-year-old daughter on her way from school.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.
