A 41-year-old man, Sodiq Gbadamosi, and his wife, Atinuke Gbadamosi, 34, on Tuesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged theft.

The couple were charged with stealing and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 29 in the Eruwa, Ido area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendants, the complainant’s landlords, stole a solar fan, generator, television, power bank, laptop, and hot plate valued at N2 million, belonging to the complainant, Christopher Aina.

The Magistrate, Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until September 18 for hearing.
