Arsenal throw away two-goal lead to draw struggling West Ham; blow title race wide open

Premier League leader Arsenal failed to extend their lead on the table standings after throwing away a two-goal lead to play a thrilling 2-2 draw against bottom side West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon as the title race took another surprising turn.
With only seven rounds of matches to be played in this campaign, West Ham who are fighting against relegation proved to be a hard nut for the Gunners to crack and came back from two goals down to upset Arsenal in their bid for their first league title in almost two decades.
Gabriel Jesus put Arsenal ahead seven minutes into the match before Martin Odegaard doubled the lead for the visitors three minutes later, but Benrahma would score in the 33rd minute from the spot to put West Ham back into the game.
In the 52nd minute, Arsenal were awarded a penalty Michail Antonio handled the ball inside its 18-yard box but Bukayo Saka side-foots effort went wide the post before Jarrod Bowen scored to equalise for West Ham almost – a goal which may later come back to hurt the Gunners in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
The result leaves Arsenal, who are currently on 74 points, only four points ahead of defending champions Manchester City who still have a game in hand, giving Pep Guardiola a huge chance to catch up or even surpass them considering the tough matches the Gunners still have to play.
