Arm wrestling federation seeks sport inclusion in 2026 Enugu NSF

President of the Nigeria Arm Wrestling Federation, Samuel Olatunji, has said the body is working towards the inclusion of the sport in the National Sports Festival (NSF) scheduled to take place in Enugu in 2026.
Mr Olatunji made the disclosure on Saturday, on the sidelines of the African Arm Wrestling Championship in Abuja.
He said, “The performance of Nigerian athletes in this championship is a significant improvement over previous years, and I’m very proud. We have seen notable progress in the sport and already initiated discussions with the National Sports Commission to include arm wrestling in the upcoming festival. We are also working to reintegrate the sport into the Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA), which remains a vital platform for discovering new talent.’’.
Over 20 countries are participating in the two-day championship, which concludes in Abuja on Saturday.
