Amaechi, Yahaya urge Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s peace, security

Transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, and Gombe governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, have sought prayers for the nation to cap the annual Ramadan fast of Muslim faithful.
In a statement released on Sunday, Mr Amaechi hoped for the manifestation of “prayers offered for our country and all families during the Ramadan season.”
The presidential aspirant also enjoined all Muslims to reflect on the significance of the Ramadan fast and continue to pray for Nigeria’s peace, security and economic growth.
Similarly, the Gombe governor urged Muslims to pray that “the nation’s trying moment will be over and Nigeria will emerge stronger and more united.”
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mr Yahaya noted that the holy acts of devotion practised during the fast, should extend beyond the Ramadan season.
“The same way we all remembered the less privileged and those afflicted by poverty during Ramadan, I implore us to carry over these attributes beyond Ramadan,” he said.
The governor urged Gombe residents to take advantage of the federal government empowerment programmes to uplift their economic status and that of their families.
