All tiers of government buoyant under Tinubu: LG Chairman

The chairman of the Badagry Local Government Area, Olusegun Onilude, says President Bola Tinubu has helped Nigeria’s three tiers of government to be financially buoyant.
In an interview on Sunday in Badagry, Mr Onilude said that under the Tinubu-led administration, the three tiers of government—federal, state, and local authorities—are getting more money from monthly allocations.
“Every month, allocation comes in trillions,” said Mr Onilude. “What this translates to is for the people to start benefiting and seeing the impact of the increase in revenue.”
According to the chairman, those travelling now find it easy; getting a passport is no longer what it used to be, and you have to wait months or a year to get one like it used to be.
“Before, if you want to correct mistakes in your passport, you have to go to Abuja, but now, it is not compulsory. Anywhere you are in the country, you can sort yourself out; things have changed,” he said.
Regarding insecurity, Mr Onilude commended the president for reducing the frequent attacks by bandits and insurgents.
The chairman said the electricity supply had improved compared to two to three years ago when communities could go for months without it.
However, more needs to be done in this sector to maintain the electricity supply.
Mr Onilude also lauded the Tinubu-led administration for ensuring that work continued on the Agbara-Badagry Expressway.
He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with Mr Tinubu’s administration, adding that one year is insufficient to reshape the country.
According to the chairman, Mr Tinubu has come to do a very difficult job.
“That is what Tinubu is doing now, and the result will not show immediately for anyone doing such.
“And by nature, Nigerians are impatient; we want results almost immediately, but it doesn’t work like that; it takes time for things to materialise.’
The chairman, however, urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu-led administration.
