Abuja chamber of commerce seeks business-friendly policies

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has urged the Federal Government to make friendly policies to help businesses operate without hindrances.
Reacting to President Bola Tinubu’s Democracy Day speech, ACCI president Al-Mujtaba Abubakar urged him to fulfil his electoral pact of the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda.
He also referred to Mr Tinubu’s inauguration address, where he gave effect to his predecessor’s decision to remove the fuel subsidy and free up the resources a few had hitherto pocketed for collective use.
Mr Abubakar, however, said that the business community was looking forward to policies that would help them contribute to building a stronger economy.
According to him, if favourable policies are implemented, the private sector would be able to operate without any hindrance, thereby contributing to the country’s economic growth.
He also called for investment in transportation, infrastructure, education, regular power supply, healthcare and other public utilities to improve life quality.
“These and many more are what the business community needs to have a smooth running of their businesses, and we pray that this administration would be magnanimous enough to supply them,” stated Mr Abubakar.
The ACCI president stated further, “On behalf of the executive council and members of ACCI, I congratulate the people of Nigeria, President Tinubu and his team while also praying for a successful tenure.”
