2023 Hajj: Gov. Yusuf donates N65 million to Kano pilgrims

Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has donated N65 million to support 6,166 pilgrims from the state participating in the 2023 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the 2023 Hajj media team chairman, announced the donation on Monday.
During the post-Arafat meeting with officials in Makka, Laminu Danbappa, the director-general of the Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board, revealed that each pilgrim would receive 50 Saudi Riyals, adding that the gesture was in recognition of the pilgrims’ good behaviour in the holy land.
He urged the pilgrims to ensure good use of the governor’s gift and Basic Travelling Allowances (BTAs) and avoid reckless spending that might affect their well-being.
Also, he advised them to be good ambassadors and portray a positive image of the state and the country in the holy land and pray for the country’s peace and tranquillity.
Mr Danbappa also mentioned that the board would begin issuing 32 kilogrammes of luggage to the pilgrims and a Sallah gift donated by the governor.
