2023 Census: FG wants PWDs involved, counted

The federal government has urged persons with disabilities (PWDs) to be involved in the 2023 national population census and be counted.
This is contained in a statement on Wednesday by Mbanefo Michaels, spokesman for James Lalu, the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities executive secretary.
Mr Lalu gave the charge while speaking at a town hall meeting with stakeholders organised by the National Population Commission (NPC) to sensitise the public on the 2023 census.
He appealed to PWDs to come out en masse to be counted.
According to him, the participation of PWDs in the forthcoming population census will give them a sense of belonging.
He reminded them that their numbers always command political and economic strength, especially regarding the equitable distribution of national wealth.
Mr Lalu also urged parents and guardians to encourage their wards to actively participate in the census to ensure visibility and social inclusion in the scheme of things in the country.
