Eid-el-Fitr: FRSC threatens to arrest, prosecute underage drivers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jigawa command, has threatened to arrest and prosecute underage drivers in the state.
The command said it deployed 345 officers to provide road safety during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Jigawa.
This is contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Gambo, on Wednesday in Dutse.
The FRSC pledged to collaborate with other security agencies and the judiciary to prosecute underage and reckless drivers.
It said the FRSC sector commander, Ahmed Mohammed, directed the deployment of the personnel and logistics for patrol, surveillance and traffic control between April 20 and April 25.
“FRSC in Jigawa has deployed 345 officers, marshals, 45 special marshals, as well as eight patrol vehicles and three life-supporting ambulances across the state,” it said.
The FRS appealed to all motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations during and beyond the festive period.
It explained that measures were part of the command’s effort to ensure free traffic flow on all the roads across the state and ensure the safety of lives and property.
