Zamfara assembly commission gets new heads

The Zamfara House of Assembly has approved the appointment of Shehu Sa’idu as the head of legislative services of the assembly’s commission.
A statement by the assembly’s spokesman, Nasiru Biyabiki, said Mr Sa’idu would oversee the commission’s affairs.
Mr Sa’idu was the assembly clerk before the state Assembly Service Commission was set up.
The deputy clerk, Mahmud Aliyu, has been promoted to permanent secretary (administration). According to the statement, the director of legislative matters, Yusuf Sabo, will also assume duty as permanent secretary of legislative matters.
It said the three appointees had been sworn in by the speaker of the house, Nasiru Magarya, during the assembly’s plenary on Thursday.
The speaker congratulated the new appointees and called on them to justify the house’s confidence in them.
The Zamfara State House of Assembly Service Commission (Establishment Law) was enacted in 2022.
