Zamfara APC urges calm over publicity secretary’s arrest
The publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, was arrested in Gusau on Tuesday.
The party’s State Welfare Secretary, Bashir Ataka, confirmed Mr Idris’ arrest by security operatives.
He said, “Yes, our Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, was arrested on Tuesday in Gusau at his residence by some security operatives.”
According to him, Mr Idris is now in the police headquarters for interrogation.
“We are now with him at the police headquarters, Gusau,” he stated.
Mr Ataka, however, called on APC members in the state to remain calm and law-abiding.
