The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it had deployed 130 personnel on the Ore-Benin Expressway for Christmas and new year special patrol.

The FRSC also said it deployed three patrol vehicles, one ambulance, and one tow truck for the special yuletide patrol, which began on Tuesday to end on January 15, 2023.

Sikiru Alonge, FRSC unit commander, disclosed this to journalists on Friday in Ore, Ondo State.

Mr Alonge said the FRSC personnel included officers, marshals, and special marshals, who were to ensure the free flow of traffic along the highway.

“We are now in the festive season where we have high vehicular movement and an influx of people, and that is why we began the special patrol.

“We have also collaborated with other security agencies to ease traffic flow and arrest drivers who flout traffic rules and regulations on the highway,” he said.

He, however, cautioned drivers against flouting traffic rules to avoid crashes the yuletide.
