YPP wins Nnewi South/South Ikwusigo election rerun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Peter Uzokwe of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) as the winner of the rerun election for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency of Anambra.
INEC’s returning officer, Charles Nweke, said Mr Uzokwe polled 25,518 votes to defeat the Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Uchenna Elodimuo, who polled 25,412 votes.
Mr Elodimuo lost his seat to the YPP candidate, Mr Uzokwe.
The election rerun was scheduled by INEC after a court of competent jurisdiction ordered a rerun to determine the actual winner of the election.
