Yobe L-PRES condoles victims of Kwara cattle market fire

The Yobe State office of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has expressed condolences to victims of the recent fire outbreak at the Ajase-Ipo Cattle Market in Kwara State.
In a statement on Saturday in Damaturu, the Yobe L-PRES project coordinator, Adama Madaki, conveyed the project’s solidarity with its Kwara counterpart, victims of the incident, and stakeholders in the livestock value chain.
According to reports, at least 22 shops were destroyed in the blaze, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in significant losses for traders and livestock business operators.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to the government and people of Kwara State, particularly the Ajase-Ipo Cattle Market community, over the unfortunate fire outbreak that recently occurred.
“We share in your grief over this devastating incident, recognising the vital role the livestock market plays in sustaining livelihoods and advancing the core objectives of L-PRES: strengthening livestock productivity, commercialisation, and resilience,” Ms Madaki said.
She prayed for strength and a swift recovery for all those affected and expressed hope that the rebuilding efforts would be successful.
Ms Madaki also reaffirmed the project’s commitment to continued collaboration with stakeholders across states to achieve L-PRES’s shared vision of a more resilient and productive livestock sector.
