Workers Day: LASU VC hail workers, urges regular medical checkups

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has appealed to workers to prioritise their health and go for regular medical check-ups.
Mrs Olatunji-Bello made the appeal in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
She assured LASU workers of her administration’s commitment to their welfare.
She stated, “As you strive to earn a living, I urge you to prioritise your health. Go for regular medical check-ups, rest when your body calls for it and take care of yourself through proper nutrition and regular exercise. As we celebrate today, please be assured that our administration remains committed to prioritising your welfare, recognising that every labourer deserves to be rewarded. Your hard work, often under challenging conditions, speaks volumes of your professionalism and belief in what we are building together.’’
She added that the 2025 Workers Day presented a meaningful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the remarkable dedication, resilience and passion defining workforce at LASU.
She stated, “As we welcome a new month today, we also join the global community in celebrating International Workers Day. On behalf of the university management, I extend warm wishes for a joyful International Workers Day and a prosperous new month to every one of you. I am deeply grateful for your unwavering commitment to our shared vision to make LASU not just the best in Nigeria, but a shining beacon across our sub-region.”
She assured LASU workers of a continued safe environment.
“Our tireless support staff, who ensure our environment remains safe and welcoming, your efforts are the lifeblood of this university. Each of you play an indispensable role in our continued growth and success. The positive, enriching learning space we provide will not be possible without your steadfast dedication,” she said.
She prayed for God’s blessings on the workers.
