Woman slumps during prayer at MFM, dies hours later in hospital

A female septuagenarian worshipper at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries identified as Bisi Adewumi slumped during a prayer session at the church auditorium along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo, Ogun State.
The Ogun State Police Command said that the worshipper was later reported dead while undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Sagamu.
According to the police, the church’s Head of Security, Pastor Ekikere Esiere, reported the incident to them on Friday, claiming that the deceased was immediately rushed to the church clinic for medical attention after she slumped at about 5:30 p.m on Thursday.
The police added that the deceased was subsequently referred to the Sagamu General Hospital where she was pronounced dead while receiving treatment on Friday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the corpse had been deposited at the hospital morgue.
“No relatives of the deceased had come to claim the body yet. She’s suspected to be a 75-year-old woman. In the meantime, the investigation is still ongoing,” the police spokesperson added.
