We’re ready for Africa Cup Track Cycling championship: CFN

President of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, Giandomenico Massari, says the CFN is putting finishing touches ahead of the Africa Cup Track Cycling championship.
Massari said in Abuja that the federation was committed to hosting a successful second edition of the Africa Cup Track Cycling championship.
Nigeria is hosting the championship slated for July 14 to July 17, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
He said that the federation had made its final selections of cyclists to represent Nigeria in the tournament in both the juniors and elite categories, and that the technical crew will release names of the participating cyclists.
“Although the cyclists are still in the camp, they have been there since April and will remain in camp until the tournament is over,” he said.
Massari said that 20 countries were invited to participate in the tournament and would undergo camping in Nigeria, organised by the Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC).
“The camping will start on July 8 to July 13, before the commencement of the championship on July 14. The camp will comprise Nigeria Track cyclists and other cyclists from other participating countries.
“Countries to participate in the camp include South Africa, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Republic of Benin, Guinea, Burundi, Eritrea ,Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda among others,” he said.
