We’ll continue to focus on needs of Akwa Ibom people: Gov Eno

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has reiterated his administration’s commitment to always focus on the needs of the Akwa Ibom people.
In his Christmas message to the state on Wednesday in Uyo, Mr Eno said that people’s welfare would continue to get priority attention.
He described Christmas as a season of love, giving and unity and urged Akwa Ibom people to show love to one another, especially the vulnerable and downtrodden.
“We will continue to focus on the needs of our people; we urge our people to arise and apply their God-given talents and creativity.
“We shall continue to work harder to make life better for our people. We are determined to extend more development to the rural areas.
“We shall expand infrastructure to ensure that Akwa Ibom remains an oasis of peace and tranquillity,” he said.
Mr Eno said his administration would continue implementing policies that would keep the youth focused on their pursuit of education and life-changing skills.
The governor urged Akwa Ibom youth to be more resourceful, peaceful, law-abiding and hardworking in the interest of their future.
“Our state is peaceful, safe and secure, and I urge our great and resourceful youths to help maintain this status.
“Let’s wear our unity and love as badges of honour; let’s continue to celebrate our bonds of ‘kindredship,’ ” he said.
He said the state government had extended love to the people during Christmas by providing 20 bags of rice to each of the 2,272 gazetted villages.
He called on politicians and stakeholders across the 368 wards in the state to support the government’s action by showing love to their constituents.
The governor commended the Akwa Ibom people for their prayers and support in the last 18 months of his government’s existence.
