Vietnam issued 43,926 level-2 electronic identification accounts to foreign nationals during a 50-day campaign, Vietnam News Agency reported.

It said between July 1 and August 19, immigration offices nationwide processed 50,809 applications and forwarded them to the Administrative Management Police Department.

The initiative was part of Vietnam’s digital transformation and governance modernisation agenda, the state-owned media reported.
