VC urges collaboration for Michael Okpara university’s excellence

Maduebibisi Iwe, vice-chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, has called on privileged individuals in Igboland to commit part of their resources to the university to achieve its goal of excellence.
He made the appeal during the official handover of a chemistry laboratory refurbished by Chika Ikenga, Chairman and CEO of Eunisell Nigeria Ltd., to the university on Thursday.
Mr Iwe, who highlighted some of the university’s achievements, expressed his administration’s willingness to collaborate with any individual or group to realise its vision of global excellence.
The vice-chancellor thanked Mr Ikenga for deciding to commit part of his resources to the institution.
Mr Iwe said Mr Ikenga, who had been earlier conferred with an honorary doctorate by the university, had opted to assist one of the things for which he could be remembered.
The laboratory, located in the College of Physical and Applied Sciences, was refurbished with world-class equipment to enhance students’ interest in this critical area of science.
