The Practitioners of Content Creators, Skit-Makers, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN) has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s grants to support the crafts of upcoming content creators.

The national president of PCCSIGN, Michael Nwabufo, popularly known as Mike Premium, gave the commendation in an interview with journalists on Monday in Lagos.

Mr Nwabufo, a talent and brand manager, said the group had applied for the FG grants to enable young influencers to grow their streaming platforms.

According to him, each beneficiary will get grants ranging between N1 million and N3 million from September to October 2024.

“We want to let the upcoming content creators, skit makers, influencers and models know that we have successfully applied for the federal government financial assistance grant for them.

“They will be getting this month of September. At least between N1 million and N3 million will be sent directly into their account,” Mr Nwabufo said.

He said the grant would help young practitioners buy little production materials like cameras, lights, laptops, and microphones, among other items, to bolster the creative industry.

Mr Nwabufo said, “We are going to be partnering with a bank that will help us create business accounts that will receive the grants for the creators.

“All you have to do is visit @pccsign on Instagram, click the link in bio, register, and we will get you informed when the disbursement starts this September.

“This money is not for you to lavish but to help you grow and become successful content creators and influencers because we know how talented a lot of them are.”

Mr Nwabufo, also the ambassador of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), said he would be paying for 100 upcoming artists to register their businesses with CAC.

He said that the PCCSIGN had also partnered with the Nigeria Police to help practitioners be recognised nationwide without wrong profiling or harassment.

Mr Nwabufo, however, said upcoming content creators and influencers had to register and get their ID cards on the PCCSIGN website.

“Creators should be respected. They are a big deal. We have decided to take these significant moves towards nation-building and youth growth in Nigeria,” he said.

Commending the President, Mr Nwabufo said PCCSIGN had met with the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, to appreciate the government’s unwavering support for the creative industry.

He added that the group had also paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, applauding her efforts in empowering creatives and advancing the creative economy.

He said Nigeria had several successful content creators who had made an impact and were helping others.

Mr Nwabufo listed the practitioners as Brain Jotter, Oga Sabinus, Mark Angel Crazeclown, Sydney Talker, Lord Lamba, Billion Prince White, Taaoma, Nasty Blaq, Zfancy and many others.
