Ukraine War: Russia says no signals from Europe for peace talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not received any signal from European nations that they want to engage in talks on ending the war in Ukraine, according to the Kremlin.
“So far there have been no signals,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in Moscow on Friday.
Mr Peskov was referring to statements made by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who suggested that one or two countries should negotiate with Moscow on behalf of the European nations supporting Ukraine.
Mr Stubb suggested that France or the United Kingdom shouldmost likely represent Europe.
Russia and the United States have so far bypassed European countries in negotiations over a possible end to the war in Ukraine.
Neither European countries nor Ukraine itself was invited to the talks.
