Ukraine: Russian court fines Google $51 million for refusing to delete ‘false information’

Moscow’s Tagansky District Court has fined Google ₽4.6 billion ($51 million) for repeated refusal to delete YouTube videos disseminating false information about Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
The court also fined Google on Wednesday for sharing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) propaganda, which has been banned in Russia.
The court said Google was guilty of contravening Article 13.41, Section 5, of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences.
Judge Marina Orlova said in her verdict that the penalty attracted a fine of ₽4.611 billion.
