Two men arraigned for allegedly stealing motorcycle worth N1.1 million

Two men, Samuel Akinyemi and Femi Olajide, on Tuesday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued N1.1 million.
Akinyemi 30, and Olajide, 25, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a charge of stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on June 25 in Ado-Ekiti.
Mr Oriyomi said that the defendants stole a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle belonging to the complainant, Obi Chidubem.
He said that the defendants were caught with the motorcycle and were handed over to the police.
Mr Oriyomi said that the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The Defence Counsel, Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant his clients bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until August 5 for mention.
