Trump to be arraigned Tuesday in hush money paid porn star

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday on felony charges after a grand jury in New York in alleged criminal hush money paid to porn star Stephanie Gregory Clifford, popularly known as Stormy Daniels.
Mr Trump had allegedly, through his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, who was convicted and served time in the same matter, paid $130,000 to Ms Daniels to buy the silence of the porn star about an alleged sexual relationship between her and the ex-president.
Mr Trump denied all allegations. But Mr Cohen, who was repeatedly convicted of perjury and disbarred for dishonesty, said Mr Trump refunded the money he paid to Ms Daniels. He also said the money came from election donations from Mr Trump.
The charges on which Mr Trump would be arraigned have yet to be officially announced by the Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat. He faces numerous criticisms over the matter and allegations that his office is prosecuting Mr Trump, a Republican, based on political grounds.
The former U.S. president is expected to be charged with more than two dozen felony charges, and Mr Trump is also expected to turn himself in for arraignment on Tuesday.
It would be the first time a former U.S. president would face criminal charges in over two centuries.
