Trump sets record of longest state of union address

Mr Trump on Wednesday spoke for approximately 1 hour and 48 minutes before congress.

President Donald Trump delivered the longest State of the Union address on record Wednesday, speaking for approximately 1 hour and 48 minutes before congress.

According to data compiled by the American Presidency Project, the speech was the longest since record-keeping began in 1964.

The previous record of about 1 hour and 29 minutes was set by former President Bill Clinton during his 2000 address.
