Tribunal sacks Benue APC lawmaker, returns Gabriel Suswam to Senate

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Makurdi has returned Gabriel Suswam of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Senate after declaring him the authentic winner of the February 25 election for Benue Northeast Senatorial District.
The tribunal, which lasted for three hours, sacked Emmanuel Udende of the All Progressives Congress from the upper chamber.
Mr Suswam, a member of the 9th Senate, initially lost his bid to return to the upper chamber to Mr Udende.
He has now been returned to the Senate after the tribunal expressed satisfaction that the petitioners had fulfilled the requirements of the law.
