The police command in Bauchi says a windstorm in Bashe Village, Burra district of Ningi council area, killed two minors identified as Amina Maharazu and Asiya Tasiu, while injuring two others.

Nafiu Habib, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Monday. He said the two eight-year-old girls were killed by an uprooted tree during a rainstorm at about 5:40 p.m. on Monday.

“According to a report received at Burra Divisional Police Headquarters, on 29th June 2026 at about 1740hrs, from the Officer-in-Charge, Bashe Police Outstation, there was a downpour accompanied by a violent windstorm at about 1600hrs in Bashe Village.
