Transmission lines connected to Jos transmitting bulk electricity, says TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says the 330-kilo-volt (KV) transmission lines connected to Jos are in service and transmitting bulk power.
The company management made this known in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.
The company was reacting to a statement by Kaduna Electric alleging transmission constraints affecting power supply to Jos and its environs.
The company said that TCN recorded a lone incident on August 23, when the Jos–Lafia 330 kV Line 2 circuit breaker was opened for voltage control.
“This was a routine operational action to maintain grid stability. The line was successfully restored and back in service at 11:59 a.m. on August 24.
”There has been no outage or disruption of bulk electricity transmission on any 330kV line supplying Jos attributable to TCN since that restoration,” it said.
The management said that TCN remained committed to transparency and efficient transmission of bulk electricity to distribution companies nationwide.
It also urged Kaduna Electric and other stakeholders to verify facts with TCN before issuing statements that could misinform the public and create unnecessary anxiety.
“We appeal to electricity customers in Jos and environs to disregard the misleading information. The TCN will continue to work with all distribution companies to ensure stable and reliable power delivery,” it said.
