Tiwa Savage petitions police over Davido’s threat to her life

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police over alleged threats to her life by her colleague, Davido.
In the petition dated January 9, Tiwa Savage accused Davido of “uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words” to her following her Instagram post featuring his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, on December 23.
The “Ma Lo” crooner said Davido claimed she “taunted” him for hanging around Momodu, knowing they were not on good terms.
“On December 23, I made a post which included myself and Sophia Momodu on my Instagram Story- a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and MR DAVID ADELEKE messaged my manager, who’s also part of his management team, that I should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person,” she said.
Tiwa Savage claimed she replied to Davido, asking him not to engage with her, considering her past support for him, his daughter and when he lost his son in 2022.
“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor.
“He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to ‘be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up,” said Tiwa Savage.
She said Davido’s actions “are unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat” to her “rights to life, privacy and dignity” of her person.
The singer added, “This is beginning to feel like some form of online and offline harassment not just to me but also to members of my team.”
She urged the police to “hold MR DAVID ADELEKE responsible” should anything happen to her and her family members.
Davido has yet to respond to any of the allegations.
Tiwa Savage’s petition comes a day after her ex-husband Tee Billz called out Davido for allegedly disrespecting his family.
