Tinubu’s Democracy Day fall was ‘mild misstep’: Presidency

Presidential media aide, Dada Olusegun, has described President Bola Tinubu’s fall during Democracy Day celebration on Wednesday, as a “mild misstep and no issue.”
“Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped,” Mr Olusegun, however, said on X that “It was a mild misstep. No issues.”
According to Mr Olusegun, Mr Tinubu immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds.
Peoples Gazette reported that Mr Tinubu, 72, slipped, fell, hitting his head against the parade truck at the Eagle Square during Democracy Day celebration.
Mr Olusegun’s statement, however, clear doubts that the President might have sustained injury due to the fall.
