Tinubu campaign manager Jibrin joins Kwakwanso’s NNPP

Kano politician Abdulmumin Jibrin joined forces with opposition party New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), days after he ditched ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Jibrin leads an amalgamation of support groups for APC presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu.
His defection was announced via NNPP’s official Twitter handle.
The barely known NNPP was shot to limelight upon the defection of ex-Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Similar to Mr Jibrin, Mr Kwakwanso also left the PDP because of internal leadership crisis in Kano state and in the North West.
In April, Mr Kwankwaso picked up presidential nomination form of the party. He is expected to become the party’s flag bearer unchallenged.
Mr Jibrin is running to go back to the House of Representatives after losing his bid in 2019. The governor Abdullahi Ganduje led Kano APC is however said to be against his ambition.
