Tinubu appoints Keyamo director of APC air mobilisation

President Bola Tinubu has appointed aviation minister Festus Keyamo as director of air mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress’ 2027 re-election campaign.
The appointment places Mr Keyamo at the head of a campaign directorate responsible for coordinating air travel and aviation logistics for nationwide campaign activities.
Tunde Moshood, the minister’s spokesman, announced the appointment in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.
The APC Presidential Campaign Council is coordinating preparations for Mr Tinubu’s re-election bid. Under the arrangement, the managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Olubunmi Kuku, will serve as deputy director (I).
The managing director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Farouk Umar, serves as deputy director (II).
The appointments reflected the strategic importance of air transportation, operational coordination and aviation logistics to a nationwide presidential campaign, according to the statement.
It said the directorate would coordinate air travel, facilitate arrangements for designated campaign officials and personnel, and support activities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
According to the statement, the directorate would collaborate with other campaign structures to ensure effective planning, operational efficiency and appropriate deployment of logistical resources, stating that Mr Keyamo’s appointment brought the experience of a serving aviation minister to the campaign’s organisational structure.
It credited Mr Keyamo with pursuing policy initiatives to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector, improve its international standing, and position the country as a major African aviation hub, highlighting that the minister’s familiarity with the industry’s operational demands was expected to support air-mobilisation planning and establish an effective framework for coordinating the directorate’s activities.
