Three men arraigned for stealing motorcycle in Ekiti

Three men, Femi Ajayi, 30, Usman Aliyu, 40, and Shaibu Sodiq, 29, were, on Friday, arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti chief magistrates’ court over alleged stealing of a motorcycle.
The defendants of unknown addresses are facing a charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 20, at about 02:30 p.m., in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants stole one Bajaj motorcycle valued at N220,000, belonging to Mamuda Mohammed.
Mr Adeniyi said the offence contravened section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.
Counsel to the defendants, Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The chief magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendants N50,000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until October 2 for a hearing.
