Ten Hag confident of remaining as Man United manager after defeat against Tottenham

Manchester United head coach, Erik ten Hag, says he is not concerned about the possibility of losing his job after the Red Devils were beaten 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
The defeat against Tottenham meant that United have only managed to win two of their six games in the new season so far as they sit 12th on the table.
United have lost three matches and drawn one game this season.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said he is not thinking about the possibility of getting sacked as himself and United’s hierarchy have made the decision to stick together after his contract was extended by the club before the start of the season.
“I’m not thinking about being sacked, not at all. We all made the decision to stay together,” the 54-year-old Dutchman said. “Ownership, staff, players, myself. We made the decision from a clear review of what we have to do,” he added.
“We knew it would take some time. We are on the same page together.”
Brennan Johnson opened the scoring for the visitors only three minutes into the game, which marked the forward’s fourth consecutive goal in his last four league games.
United’s woes were compounded minutes away from the half time break after Bruno Fernandes was shown a red card following a foul on James Maddison.
Tottenham capitalised on the numerical advantage and doubled their lead inside the opening minute of the second half through Dejan Kulusevki before Nigerian-born Dominic Solanke’s header sealed the win for Spurs in the 77th minute.
United’s next game is against Porto in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday before travelling to Aston Villa in their next EPL game of the season on Sunday.
