Tanker Explosion: Badaru commiserates with Jigawa government, residents

The minister of defence, Mohammed Badaru, has commiserated with the government and people of Jigawa over the tragic fuel tanker explosion in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area.
This is contained in a statement by the personal assistant (PA) to the minister on media and publicity, Mati Ali, made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday night, claimed the lives of no fewer than 90 people and left some 50 others injured.
Mr Badaru said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic fuel tanker explosion that claimed precious lives and left many injured.
“My heart goes out to the people of Jigawa during this difficult time. I pray that the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may Almighty God grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“May the injured recover quickly and fully.”
