Swedish trade surplus decreased in September: Official

Sweden’s foreign trade surplus decreased in September as exports fell faster than imports, figures from Statistics Sweden showed on Monday.
The trade surplus shrank to 0.8 billion kronor ($0.08 billion) in September from 2.3 billion kronor in the same month last year. In August, the trade balance posted a shortfall of 6.5 billion kronor.
On an annual basis, exports plunged 9 per cent over the year, and imports declined by 8 per cent.
The non-European Union trade balance showed a surplus of 24.9 billion kronor in September, while the trade balance with the EU revealed a deficit of 24.1 billion kronor.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus was 3.3 billion kronor in September, compared to 4.2 billion kronor in the previous month.
