Swedish club Mjällby AIF sign Yusuf Abdulazeez from Gombe United

Swedish top division club Mjällby AIF has announced the signing of Yusuf Abdulazeez from Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Gombe United.
Mjällby in a statement on Monday disclosed that the transfer for Abdulazeez was completed on the deadline day on an undisclosed fee agreed with Gombe United.
He put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2025.
“Mjällby AIF welcomes the Nigerian striker Yusuf Abdulazeez to Listerlandet! The striker has signed a contract that runs until the 2025 season.
The 20-year-old striker joins from Gombe United, which belongs to the Nigerian top league.
Mjällby AIF and Gombe United agreed on a transfer fee for Yusuf, the club said.
Abdulazeez spent last season with Gombe United where he scored sixteen goals in the NPFL to help the club finish 8th on the league table.
Mjällby’s sporting director, Hasse Larsson, said the club has been monitoring the young attacker for a while and look forward to him making a difference for the club.
“Yusuf is a player we’ve had our eye on for a long time. It is an interesting striker with strengths in his speed, strength, and finishing.
Yusuf has impressive numbers and statistics from Nigeria despite his young age. This is a player we hope can make a difference both in the short and long term, comments sporting director Hasse Larsson,” Larsson added.
Abdulazeez is not expected to arrive in Sweden until the weekend due to work permits and residence permit cards.
