Suspect arrested with dispatch motorcycle stolen from Lagos in Niger

The police command in Niger State said it arrested a suspect with a stolen dispatch motorcycle en route Benue State from Lagos State at Lambata-Lapai Road, Niger.
The command Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Minna.
According to him, on July 4, about 10 a.m, information was received that a dispatch motorcycle was stolen from Lagos State en route Benue along Lambata-Lapai road.
He said, “Police operatives at Gawu-Babangida Division were alerted and monitored, until the motorcycle rider arrived at Dikko junction, the suspect left the motorcycle and attempted to board another vehicle to Benue State. In the process, the rider of Tarka village, Benue was arrested with the motorcycle.’’
He said that during interrogation, the (names withheld) could not give a satisfactory account of the said motorcycle.
According to Mr Abiodun, the rightful owner of the motorcycle had been contacted.
The suspect would be prosecuted after investigations.
In another development, the force arrested a suspect with a revolver gun and three live ammunition in Suleja.
He stated, “On the same July 4, at about 12.30pm, police operatives in Suleja Area Command arrested a suspect, who resides in Sango-Barau area of Nasarawa State with a revolver gun concealed in a sack. When questioned, he claimed that the gun was given to him by one Luka of Garaku, Nasarawa State to deliver to another person known as Ndagi in the Katcha area of Niger State. Investigation was extended to Katcha and the said Ndagi was subsequently arrested.’’

Mr Abiodun said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
