Supreme Court dismisses SDP’s suit challenging Adamawa governor’s election

The Supreme Court has thrown out a suit by the Adamawa State chapter of the Social Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Umar Ardo, challenging the outcome of the election in the state.
The John Okoro-led five-member panel dismissed the appeal on Wednesday, after the counsel for the candidate prayed the court to withdraw the case.
Prior to the apex court’s dismissal, the SDP’s suit had also been thrown out at the Court of Appeal in Abuja and at the tribunal, all affirming the victory of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party
The governor however still has the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Aishatu Dahiru, to deal with.
