Soludo, APGA endorse Tinubu for 2027 presidency, overlook Peter Obi

Governor Charles Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for reelection in 2027, overlooking Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Mr Obi was a former Anambra APGA governor with his eyes on the 2027 presidency.
Mr Soludo, who doubles as the Anambra governor and leader of the party, officially announced the party’s support for Mr Tinubu on Thursday.
Explaining the decision of APGA to adopt Mr Tinubu, Mr Soludo said, “Coincidentally, Mr President, at this moment in history, the government at the centre is the one that also professes progressivism.
“Then, as the foremost progressive party in Nigeria, APGA is strategically and ideologically aligned with the centre. And so far, Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, the progressives are working well together.”
The Anambra governor revealed that in 2011, APGA took an official position to support and work with the political party and government at the centre.
“Indeed, in that year, APGA adopted the sitting president as its presidential candidate, and I want to report that policy by APGA has not changed,” Mr Soludo stated.
