Signals Corps commanders to address communication challenges

The Nigerian Army Signals Corps has commenced a strategic conference to address challenges and ensure effective and efficient communication support to military operations.
The conference opened on Wednesday in Lagos.
The corps commander, Gbemiga Adesina, said the conference was an opportunity to pool their collective wisdom, experiences and insights to address the corps’ pressing communication challenges.
“In acknowledging these challenges, we must recognise that it is our duty to come up with innovative and novel ideas towards proffering workable solutions to all identified challenges,” stated Mr Adesina. “Today marks a crucial moment to deliberate on repositioning our corps towards providing effective and efficient communication support to the Nigerian Army within a joint environment.”
The commander added that since he assumed office in July, he had focused on enhancing the capacity and capability of Army Signals personnel in tandem with modern technological advancements.
“The objective is to provide effective, secure and robust communication support to the Nigerian Army both in peace and during conflict situations. Furthermore, it focuses on achieving seamless communication support to, within and among sub-units, units and formations in the Nigerian Army,” he explained.
Mr Adesina urged the personnel to remain focused, vigilant and dedicated to improving their roles as communicators at all levels. He reiterated the importance of providing necessary communication equipment and infrastructure to enhance the work environment for optimal personnel performance.
