Saraki healthy enough to handle stress as president: Namadi Sambo

Former vice president Namadi Sambo has declared his support for Bukola Saraki’s presidential bid, stressing that the 59-year-old was strong and healthy to handle the rigours of the presidency.
“He is a young man, strong and healthy. Being President is not an easy job. That office needs people like Bukola Saraki.
“We will pray that Almighty God, who gives power to whoever he wishes will guide you and support your aspiration,” Mr Sambo said while addressing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday.
Having walked in the corridors of power in Aso Villa, Mr Sambo believes Mr Saraki’s young age, health and strength made him capable of handling the stress of the nation’s highest office.
The former vice president made the statement during Mr Saraki’s visit to Kaduna state to court delegates of the PDP ahead of the primary elections.
The statement comes at a time when another presidential contender of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, faces harsh criticisms over his age and failing health.
Mr Sambo further noted that the success recorded during Mr Saraki’s tenure as senate president would be replicated across the country if elected president.
“As the Senate President, we all know the success that he brought to this nation. This is why, I trust that if our party and our delegates give Saraki the opportunity, he will further prove what I am saying,” said the former vice president.
