Sales rep in court for allegedly stealing N3.5 million

A 34- year-old sales representative, Seyi Adigun, was on Tuesday, docked in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N3.5 million from the proceeds of the sales he made for his employer.
Adigun who resides at 11, Akinsule Street, Mushin Lagos, is standing trial for conspiracy, stealing and causing the breach of peace.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Funmilola Akinleye told the court that the offences were committed on November 1, 2024, at 47, Bashiru Shittu Street, Magodo Phase 2, Lagos.
Akinleye said that the defendant and others still at large stole N3. 5 million from the proceeds of sales made from the pharmaceutical products, belonging to his boss, Amen Eghonwanre.
She said that when the company account was audited, it was discovered that N3.5 million was missing.
The offences according to the prosecutor contravened Sections 168, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Seyi Omodara, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Mrs Omodara adjourned the case until May 12 for mention.
